Watershed Stewardship at CARL 2016

The 2016 Central Alberta Recreational Lakes forum, held at the Best Western Chateau Inn on Saturday May 14, attracted 46 lake participants from as far north as Lac Isle and many staff from government departments and agencies. Watch this blog for links to the presentations after the organizer, Janine Higgins of Alberta Environment and Parks, posts them on the CARL website.

The event was organized and sponsored by Alberta Environment and Parks (AEP), the Sylvan Lake Watershed Stewardship Society (SLWSS) and the Sylvan Lake Management Committee (SLMC).

The SLWSS display explained a Cumulative Effects Analysis of the Sylvan Lake watershed and how community-based stewardship groups can build a Geographic Information System for their own watersheds.

Both 36″ x 48″ posters are available for closer viewing or download as pdf files. See the Cumulative Effects poster here. See the Do It Yourself GIS System poster here.
